Our Purpose and Success:
With the help of our amazing volunteers and the monthly profits from the WCSC Thrift Shop, the WCSC awards Grants and Gifts to officially sanctioned organizations to support educational, charitable, and social projects, and activities that benefit the local military community, as well as, regional, national and international organizations. We proudly promote that the WCSC Grants and Gifts Committee gave $102,000.00 from August 2021 through May 2022.
Who Can Apply:
The Wiesbaden Community Spouses Club provides grants and gifts to organizations supporting our local community. This includes, but is not limited to, groups within the high school, middle school, and elementary schools, independent sports teams, military battalions, family readiness groups, church groups, scout troops, and Garrison-approved organizations. The said organization must have a verifiable mission or project supporting educational, charitable, or social projects to benefit the local military community. Eligibility extends to regional, national and international organizations that also fit the above criteria. Such organizations must be officially sanctioned or registered organizations through Garrison, DODEA school, church, unit, and/or otherwise operating in an official capacity.

Restrictions and Considerations:
- WCSC Grants will not be granted to:
- individuals or
- for items that will be used for resale or
- as a fundraiser (for example, items to be raffled), or
- for prizes, awards, or gifts (i.e. gift cards), or
- to purchase alcohol.
- The WCSC does not fund or reimburse for events, items, or projects that have already occurred or have been purchased.
- Appropriated and Non-Appropriated Funds organizations are NOT allowed to solicit donations according to AR 215-1.
- Grants of $2,501 or more require approval by the Grants and Gifts Committee and by the WCSC Board of Governors at both their regular monthly meetings.
- Grants of $3,501.00 or more require approval by the Grants and Gifts Committee, the WCSC Board of Governors, and the WCSC General Membership at each of their regular monthly meetings. Therefore, approval of some larger grants may take as much as 6 weeks after the Grant Application mid-month deadline.
2022/2023 Submissions for Review Dates for Grants:
- The WCSC Grants and Gifts Committee will have nine meetings from August – May to review applications.
- Grant applications must be received by the 15th of each month.
What to Expect:
- After grant application submission, the POC will receive a copy of the application in their email, confirming submission. The POC must be an individual that will be here through the entirety of the Grant application process.
- After the Grants and Gifts Committee reviews your application, the Chair will email the point of contact to inform you of approval or declined request.
For Approved Grants:
- The Chair and the grant recipient will arrange to meet to deliver the approved check.
- The grant recipient will sign the Grant Acknowledgement & Terms of the Agreement form.

To be good stewards of our funds, we request that grant recipients follow the below terms:
- Provide copies of receipts showing how the funds were spent within 10 days of the event for our bookkeeping/auditing purposes. If we do not receive receipts from your organization within the time frame stated, it may negatively impact any future grant requests from your organization.
- Deposit funds in a timely manner. All checks are null and void 90 days after the date of issuance.
- Return any excess funds over $20 to WCSC Grants and Gifts Chair within 10 days of the event.
- Return all funds to WCSC Grants and Gifts if, for any reason, the event does not take place.
- Checks for unused monies may be made out to the WCSC.
- Please note, that the money granted can not be used for anything other than the intended grant agreement. If the scope of your event/project changes, you will need to return the funds, and request another grant from the WCSC.
How to Apply for Grant:
- The Grants and Gifts Committee will only review applications submitted online, in Word form, PDF will not be accepted. Hard copy signature not required.
- Answer ALL questions on the application, including a budget and complete contact information. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
- Be concise and thorough, especially with regard to how the grant will be used and how many individuals will benefit. To expedite the process, answer with as much detail as necessary.
- The Grants and Gifts Committee reviews all applications in confidence.
- Supplying a detailed budget is required and helpful.
- Submit your Grant Application by the 15th of the month for consideration at the next Grants & Gifts Committee Meeting. Please view the chart above for the application submission date.
- All requests submitted after the 15th, will be held until the next scheduled meeting the following month.
- Final submissions for the fiscal year 2022-2023, must be received by May 15, 2023.
